Netflix is in the early stages of developing a sequel to the popular American series "One Tree Hill." Stars Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton have signed on to executive produce and reprise their roles as Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, respectively. Danneel Ackles is also expected to executive produce and may return as Rachel Gatina. The project is from writer-executive producer Becky Hartman Edwards and Warner Bros. Television.Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton's involvement brings back two of the series' key characters in significant roles. Danneel Ackles will join them with her production company, Chaos Machine, and her husband, Jensen Ackles. The potential inclusion of Rachel Gatina adds to the excitement surrounding the revival.
Created by Mark Schwahn, "One Tree Hill" originally premiered in 2003 and continued for nine seasons on The WB network and its successor, the CW. The original cast included Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Lenz, Austin Nichols, Antwon Tanner, and Paul Johansson.

Set in the fictional North Carolina town of Tree Hill, the series followed the complex relationship between half-brothers Lucas Scott and Nathan Scott, played by Chad Michael Murray and James Lafferty.
