NEET UG 2026 Refund Update: NTA extends deadline, check last date to apply, how to submit bank details and exam date

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for NEET-UG 2026 candidates to update their bank account details for fee refunds, after many applicants failed to complete the process. Data indicates that nearly 13 lakh students have already submitted their details, while several lakh candidates are yet to do so.

Candidates can now update their information on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, until 11:50 PM on June 22, 2026. The earlier deadline was May 27, 2026.

How to Update Bank Details for NEET Refund

Candidates seeking a refund must follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official NTA NEET portal at neet.nta.nic.in.
Step 2: Go to the ‘Candidate Activity’ section and select the ‘Fee Refund Window’ option.
Step 3: Log in using your Application Number, Password, and Captcha Code.
Step 4: Click on ‘Bank Details’ and enter the required information:

• Account Holder’s Name
• IFSC Code
• Account Number
• Bank Name

Step 5: Upload a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque (optional but recommended), as advised by NTA to ensure accuracy.
Step 6: Submit the details. Once submitted, no further changes will be allowed.

NEET UG 2026 Fee Refund Details

The refund amount varies by category. Eligible candidates will receive:

• General Category: Rs 1,700
• OBC/EWS: Rs 1,600
• SC/ST/PwD: Rs 1,000

NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Schedule

In a related update, the NTA has announced that the NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be conducted on June 21, 2026. The exam will be held in pen-and-paper mode from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.
