NEET UG 2026 notification released at neet.nta.nic.in: Check exam date, application fee, important dates and how to apply

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued the official notification for NEET UG 2026. Aspirants can apply through the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. NEET UG remains the only entrance examination in India for admission to undergraduate medical and allied health science courses. Over the past two years, more than 20 lakh candidates have registered for the exam annually.

Application Fee Payment & Correction Window

Candidates must complete the fee payment using Credit/Debit Card, Net-Banking, or UPI by 8 March 2026, 11:50 pm.

After the application process closes, a correction window will be available from 10 March 2026 to 12 March 2026, allowing applicants to edit specific details in their submitted forms.

• General category: Rs 1700
• General-EWS/OBC-NCL: Rs 1600
• SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender: Rs 1000

Centres Outside India

• All categories: Rs 9500

NEET UG 2026 Exam Date & Timing

The NEET (UG) 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted on 3 May 2026. The exam will have a duration of 180 minutes (3 hours), from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

While the exact exam centre details will be mentioned on the Admit Card, other important updates — including city intimation slips, admit card release, answer key display, recorded responses, and result announcements — will be notified later on the official websites: nta.ac.in and neet.nta.nic.in.

During the application process, candidates must upload the following documents:

• Recent passport-size photograph
• Scanned signature
• Address proof
• File size requirements

Photograph: 10 KB to 200 KB
Signature: 4 KB to 30 KB

Step 2: On the homepage, click on the "New Registration" link.
Step 3: Read the instructions carefully and click "Proceed."
Step 4: Enter the required details to generate your application number and password.
Step 5: Log in to fill out the application form, including personal details, academic qualifications, and preferred exam city.
Step 6: Upload the necessary documents within the specified size limits.
Step 7: Pay the application fee and submit the form.
Step 8: Download and print the completed application form for future reference.
