NEET UG 2023 postponed in Manipur; New dates to be announced soon

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate 2023 (NEET UG 2023) entrance exam scheduled to be held in Manipur on May 7 has been cancelled and postponed.

The decision has been taken by the National Testing Agency (NTA) due to the current situation of law and order in Manipur, with the occurrence of violence.

Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Minister of State (MoS) for Education, said about the postponement of the exam that he had written to the NTA asking them to "explore the possibility of rescheduling" the exam due to the situation in Manipur.




Dr Singh told ANI that he had requested the NTA to postpone the exam in the current situation. The new date of the exam will be fixed, he said, adding that 5,751 candidates were scheduled to appear for NEET UG 2023 at the two centres in Manipur.



The minister added that the situation was improving in Manipur, adding that the "central paramilitary forces and others have already arrived in Manipur" to control the "unwanted mob situation".

When will NEET UG 2023 Manipur be held?

The fresh dates for the NEET UG 2023 entrance test at exam centres in Manipur has not been declared yet by the NTA. The new NEET UG 2023 exam date will be announced soon.

More than 20 lakh students applied for the NEET UG 2023.
