CGHS says notice on Wellness Centre closure is fake

"It has come to the notice of the Directorate that an unauthorised notice bearing the name and logo of CGHS is being circulated," the department said in its circular.
According to CGHS, the notice falsely claimed that Wellness Centres would be shut between August 27 and August 31 due to the deployment of Medical Officers for NEET-PG examination duties.

The department made it clear that the notice was neither issued nor authorised by CGHS and that the information contained in it was false.
Will CGHS Wellness Centres remain open from August 27 to 31?
Yes. CGHS has confirmed that its Wellness Centres will continue to provide services during the five-day period."CGHS Wellness Centres shall function during the aforesaid period in accordance with their prescribed working schedule," the Directorate said.
This means beneficiaries should follow the usual working hours of their respective Wellness Centres and should not rely on the timings mentioned in the fake notice.
NEET PG 2026 duty will not affect CGHS services
The Directorate also addressed the claim that the deployment of CGHS personnel for NEET-PG examination duties would result in the closure of Wellness Centres.It said any deployment of CGHS staff for official duties would be handled through appropriate administrative arrangements to ensure that services to beneficiaries continue without disruption.
Additional Directors of CGHS have been instructed to communicate the clarification to all Wellness Centres and beneficiaries in their respective jurisdictions.
They have also been asked to make suitable staffing and duty arrangements to ensure that healthcare services remain uninterrupted.
CGHS asks beneficiaries to ignore fake notice
CGHS has directed its offices and officials not to display or circulate the unauthorised communication."The unauthorised notice is neither displayed nor circulated by any CGHS office or official," the circular stated.
Beneficiaries and members of the public have been advised to ignore the fake notice and verify any information about CGHS services through official channels.
Where to check genuine CGHS updates
CGHS has advised beneficiaries to rely only on its official website, the myCGHS 2.0 application or the concerned CGHS authorities for updates about Wellness Centre timings and services.The Directorate has also taken the misuse of the CGHS name and logo seriously. It said anyone with information about the source or circulation of the fake notice can report it to the Directorate for appropriate action.
For now, CGHS has made it clear that Wellness Centres will remain operational from August 27 to 31, 2026, according to their prescribed working schedules.
