In a proactive move to prevent disrespect to religious and national flags used during the recent consecration ceremony in Ayodhya and ongoing Republic Day celebrations, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has issued a centralised helpline. Individuals can now use the complaint number 1533 and the 311 app to notify the NDMC for the appropriate disposal of these flags.

The council has appointed fourteen sanitary inspectors to facilitate the collection of flags, and residents, market associations, and institutions are urged to deposit flags at designated NDMC offices.

According to the official order, the arrangement for the proper disposal of these flags is essential to avoid any disrespect to national and religious flags. The NDMC encourages residents, market associations, and other institutions to play their part in ensuring the respectful and graceful disposal of flags used in recent celebrations.

Flags, including those damaged or torn, can be submitted to the Area Sanitation Offices located at 14 locations within the NDMC area.

To streamline the process, a centralised number (1533) and the NDMC 311 app have been designated for individuals to report and request the collection of flags.
