National Games 2022: List of venues and events, telecast, livestreaming

The 36th National Games was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a glittering opening ceremony in Ahmedabad on Thursday evening.

The National Games, being held after seven years, will witness India's best athletes compete in 36 disciplines in six cities of Gujarat - Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot and Bhavnagar. The track cycling event will take place in Delhi.


Gujarat is hosting the National Games for the first time. The 36th edition of the Games, held from September 29 to October 12, will feature a total of 36 events with about 7,000 athletes from 28 states and 8 Union territories competing for medals.

Telecast, Livestreaming
National Games 2022 will be telecast live on the DD Sports TV channel in India
National Games 2022 will be livestreamed on the Prasar Bharati Sports YouTube Channel.

Although the Games started on September 20 to accommodate World Championship-bound table tennis players, they will gather steam on Friday with nine disciplines getting underway and several top athletes entering the fray. The games will end on October 12.

Ahmedabad venues

The Ahmedabad Military and Rifle Training Association: At Rifle Club there is only one sport being played which is Shooting (Rifle & Pistol) from 29th September to 3rd October.
Sabarmati Riverfront (Paldi): There are three venues at Sabarmati Riverfront which covers 3 sports. Rowing at Venue 1, Canoeing at Venue 1 & Venue 2, Roller Sports at Venue 3, Tennis & Soft Tennis at Venue 4. From 30th Sept to October 11.

Gandhinagar venues
Mahatma Mandir: There are 3 venues at Mahatma Mandir, Venue 1, Venue 2 & Venue 3 with a total of 6 sports, Weightlifting, Judo, Fencing, Wushu, Boxing & Wrestling starting from 30th September to 12th October.
IIT Gandhinagar: Divided into 3 venues: IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Gandhinagar Court & IIT Gandhinagar Ground. Total 4 sports will be played i.e. Triathlon, Squash, Athletics & Softball starting from 30th September to 11th October.

Surat venues
Dumas Beach: Beach Volleyball will be played at Dumas Beach from 6th October to 9th October.
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Indoor Stadium: Table Tennis & Badminton will be played at PDDU Indoor Stadium from 20th September to 6th October.

Vadodara venues
Multi-Purpose Hall, Sama Sports Complex: Gymnastics competitions will be held at Sama Sports Complex from 30th September to 4th October.

Rajkot venues
Sardar Patel Swimming Complex: Aquatics events will be held at Sardar Patel Complex from 2nd October to 8th October.
Major Dhyanchand Hockey Ground: Hockey events will be held at Major Dhyanchand Hockey Ground from 2nd October to 9th October.

Bhavnagar venues
Multi-Purpose Hall, SCB: Netball & Volleyball from 26th September - 12th October.
Outdoor Courts, SCB: Basketball 3x3 & Basketball 5X5 from 1st October to 6th October.
