NASA's MAVEN reveals mind-blowing ultraviolet images of Mars, unveils new insight into the red planet

MAVEN, launched in November 2013, successfully entered the orbit of Mars in September 2014, aiming to gather comprehensive data on the planet's atmospheric conditions. The recent release of these ultraviolet images marks a significant milestone in the mission, enabling scientists to deepen their comprehension of Mars' mysteries.

The IUVS instrument, which measured wavelengths ranging from 110 to 340 nanometers—beyond the visible spectrum—captured these global views of Mars during its elliptical orbit in 2022 and 2023.
