Namma Metro Yellow Line adds fourth rake, cuts wait time to 19 minutes
Namma Metro's Yellow Line commuters will experience reduced crowding during peak hours as a fourth rake is added starting Wednesday. This addition improves train frequency to 19 minutes from the previous 25, addressing the issue of packed coaches ...

Since operations began on August 11 with just three rakes, the line has seen over 60,000 daily passengers, causing packed coaches and crowding at R V Road station.
The extra rake will also allow weekday services to start earlier, at 6 am instead of 6:30 am, while Sunday and last train timings remain unchanged.
A senior BMRCL official said: "September 10 was the deadline for deploying a fourth train. To meet the mandatory 750 km mainline operations [for service induction], we conducted trial runs on Monday and Tuesday."
The official added: "The fourth train set will ease crowding, especially at R V Road station. However, a 19-minute interval is still quite long. So, we're working to bring in more trains soon."
