Nagaland’s musician receives adoration for her rendition of ‘Jana Gana Mana’

Imnainla Jamir, a musician from Nagaland, performed the electric version of ‘Jana Gana Mana’ on her guitar during the Hornbill Festival. Everyone showered her praises and appreciated her talent as a musician.

Imnainla Jamir, a Nagaland musician, performed Jana Gana Mana on an electric guitar while the crowd and luminaries such as Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Nagaland Governor Jagdish Mukhi, and many others rose in reverence.

In the video, Imnainla Jamir is shown performing the Anthem on an electric guitar as the public listens in adoration. On December 1, the Hornbill Festival conducted its commencement event, with Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar serving as Chief Guest.

Tycoon Anand Mahindra also celebrated the video and appreciated the cultural diversity that exists in India. He took to Twitter and shared the video of Imnainla Jamil’s performance. He also remarked that the Hornbill festival is very unique.


Meanwhile, Imnaila Jamir's version of the National Anthem has created a buzz, with fans complimenting her for such an incredible performance. "Goosebumps!" remarked one Twitter user. Whereas some other Twitter users remarked that this was the best rendition of the Indian National Anthem they had ever heard.

Patriotism oozes when the notes of our National Anthem strike our ears. While numerous singers have performed the National song over their careers, Imnaila from Nagaland has gained widespread acclaim for her version.

The Hornbill Festival is held on an annual basis in Nagaland, North East India. The festival takes place from December 1 to December 10 each year. The celebration, also known as the Festival of Festivals, represents all ethnic groups in Nagaland.

The Hornbill Festival, named after the hornbill bird that appears in Nagaland folklore, is attended by all Naga tribes. During the event, which attracts both domestic and international visitors, people experience Naga food, music, dances and customs.

The event, held from December 1 to 10, 2022, at the Naga Heritage Village in Kisama near Kohima, proved to be a profusion of new experiences and an absolute eye-opener for those who are not privy to their immensely rich culture.
