Macron India Dhurandhar song
French President Emmanuel Macron capped his recent state visit to India with a 43-second farewell video that has since taken Indian social media by storm, not just for its diplomatic visuals, but for its surprising Bollywood soundtrack.

The montage, shared on X after his departure, captured moments from his India trip — ceremonial welcomes, a warm embrace with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, temple visits, cultural interactions and even a morning jog through Mumbai streets. It ended with a simple message: “Thank You India!”

A Bollywood surprise that caught everyone’s ear

What truly grabbed attention, however, was the song playing in the background, ‘Na De Dil Pardesi Nu’, the title track from the blockbuster film Dhurandhar.

The upbeat track, widely associated with the film’s global success, sparked excitement among Indian viewers, who flooded social media with reactions. Many described the choice as “lit,” while others called it a proud moment for Indian cinema on the world stage.

One user wrote, “That Dhurandhar song in the background is just lit,” while another simply said, “Nice song selection.” Others blended diplomacy with fandom, calling it a “goated track with goated leaders.”

Macron’s trip to India was anchored in high-level diplomatic engagements. He attended the India AI Impact Summit 2026 and held bilateral talks with Modi, with both leaders stressing deeper collaboration in technology, innovation and strategic sectors.

Calling the relationship “at its highest point,” Macron said both nations want to go further, particularly in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. He also praised India’s digital transformation and governance models as a global benchmark.

The Dhurandhar film behind the viral moment

The track featured in the video comes from Dhurandhar, a major Hindi blockbuster starring Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar.

The film has already overtaken Pushpa 2: The Rule to become the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. Its ensemble cast includes Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R. Madhavan in key roles.

The sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is set for a pan-India theatrical release on March 19, 2026, timed with Eid, Gudi Padwa and Ugadi, and will release across multiple languages.

While Macron’s visit was centred on diplomacy, defence and technology, the use of a popular Hindi film track in his farewell message added a softer cultural note to the trip.

For many viewers online, it was more than just a song choice, it felt like a symbolic nod to India’s global cultural influence, blending politics, cinema and people-to-people connection into one memorable sign-off.
