“My mental health was not good,” revealed Remo D’Souza to a contestant on India’s Best Dancer 3. The Bollywood choreographer and film director was talking about his stress levels, when some of his directorial films didn’t work at the box office.

Remo D’ Souza, who is a choreographer and has judged dance reality shows in the past, appeared on the dance reality show India’s Best Dancer 3 as a celebrity guest.

Remo spoke about his battle with mental health, while he was trying to empathise with contestant Akshay Pal of Madhya Pradesh on the show.

“Akshay, I have seen your journey. I know that you have struggled a lot. I have even struggled a lot.” Remo told Akshay that he went through a lot of stress when his films didn’t do well. “My mental health was not good. Yet, I rose up again and challenged myself, to make myself better,” said Remo, while encouraging Akshay.

The choreographer-turned-filmmaker further urged the contestant to make a comeback and open his dance classes and get new students. "Never lose hope, walk on. When the classes start, your students will filter in,” he said, adding, “I want to be your first student today.”

Akshay and his choreographer Vartika Jha on India’s Best Dancer 3 danced to Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s number Chammak Challo from the movie Ra.One.

Remo appreciated Akshay’s performance, calling him “outstanding” and wished him all the best.

Akshay in turn praised Remo, saying: “I have learnt dance watching all of you. Now that you are in front of me, this feels like a dream.”

He recalled how Remo was a judge on a dance competition that he had participated in. “You did not know me but you are a very big part of my life. Now I am seeing you in front of me. You are my inspiration and I want to be like you,” he said.
