In the clip, Saqlain is seen speaking to a Pakistani TV channel, casually revealing, "My great-grandfather was Hindu."
Saqlain is no stranger to controversy. Recently, he made headlines for his sharp remarks against India regarding the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan. Expressing his frustration over India’s reported reluctance to travel to Pakistan for the tournament, he said that India needed to be taught a "sabak" (lesson) for its stance.
During a TV discussion, he criticised India and the BCCI for their concerns about security and logistics. "Chu-chu cha-cha lagayi hui hai inhone, inke naaz nakhre khatam nahi hote (they are making unnecessary noise, their tantrums never end)," he said.
Saqlain further expressed his disappointment over the admiration Indian cricketers receive in Pakistan. "Our kids want to see Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah play here, and we keep praising them, while they continue their tantrums."
