Murder accused Asif Khan's brazen live video stream from within the confines of Bareilly Central Jail has sparked outrage, leading to swift action from the district prison administration. In response to the disturbing incident, three wardens have been suspended, and the deputy jailor has been transferred to headquarters in Lucknow.

This decisive move comes after video surfaced on social media, allegedly depicting Khan engaging in a live chat from his jail cell, where he appeared to be conversing casually with acquaintances, expressing a sense of enjoyment and even hinting at an imminent release.

"I am in heaven, and enjoying it. I will be out (of jail) very soon," he purportedly told his friends.

The gravity of the situation prompted Bareilly SP (city) Rahul Bhati to personally visit the jail premises for an investigation. However, efforts to locate the phone used for streaming within Khan's barracks proved fruitless.

Khan stands accused in the murder case of Rakesh Yadav, a 34-year-old Public Works Department contractor, who was brutally killed in his office in Shahjahanpur on December 2, 2019. Alongside co-accused Rahul Chaudhary, Khan allegedly orchestrated the killing on the instructions of a rival who is currently out on bail.

Upon discovering the video circulating on social media, Yadav's brother lodged a formal complaint with district magistrate Umesh Pratap Singh.

Initially detained in Shahjahanpur district jail, both accused were later transferred to Bareilly Central Jail after concerns were raised by Yadav's brother regarding the perceived privileges and additional amenities they were enjoying behind bars.

Despite attempts to reach Bareilly SP (prison) Vijay Rai for comment, he could not be reached. However, according to sources cited in a report by TOI, it has been disclosed that Khan has been transferred to a high-security barrack as a precautionary step.
