Mumbai University first merit list for undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session has been released. The merit list includes various UG programmes like BA, BCom, and BSc courses offered by affiliated and autonomous colleges under Mumbai University.

Candidates who registered for admissions can now access the list through the university’s official website, mu.ac.in, as well as the websites of individual colleges.

The admission process is being conducted through a centralised online system, allowing students to apply to multiple colleges and courses using a single platform.

Students can follow these steps to access the merit list:

• Visit the official website at mu.ac.in
• Open the Undergraduate admission portal
• Click on the “First Merit List 2026” link
• Select the college and course applied for
• Enter login credentials if required
• View and download the merit list

Candidates are advised to save a copy of the merit list for future admission-related processes.

MU UG 2026 admission: What happens after the first merit list is released?

Students whose names appear in the first merit list will need to complete the admission formalities within the scheduled timeline.

The document verification and fee payment process will begin on May 27 and continue till May 29.

Admissions are being granted based on marks obtained in the Class 12 examination. The university is considering marks scored in the “best five” subjects while preparing merit rankings and cut-offs.

When will Mumbai University release the second and third merit lists?

Mumbai University has also announced the schedule for upcoming admission rounds.

• Second merit list: May 30, 2026
• Third merit list: June 4, 2026

Further merit lists will depend on seat availability after each round of admissions.

When will Mumbai University classes begin for the 2026 session?

According to the current schedule, classes for the new academic session will commence from June 13, 2026.

The university had earlier extended the undergraduate admission registration deadline till May 23 after revising its admission timeline.

Yes. Alongside undergraduate admissions, Mumbai University is also accepting applications for several postgraduate programmes.

These include:

• One-year postgraduate diploma courses
• Two-year postgraduate programmes
• Fourth Year Honours courses
• Fourth Year Honours with Research programmes

The PG registration process began on May 9 and will continue till May 30, 2026, till 11:59 pm.
