Residents of Mumbai are bracing for scorching temperatures this week, with parts of the metropolitan region already recording highs nearing 38–40°C on Tuesday.

The India Meteorological Department has indicated that the city will experience hot and humid conditions, with isolated pockets facing heatwave-like temperatures in the early part of the week.

As of Tuesday evening, temperature readings across the city remain high. Several localities in Mumbai are reporting extreme heat, and officials have warned the public to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours.

According to the latest forecasts:

Wednesday, 11th March: Hot and humid conditions continue, with isolated areas experiencing heatwave intensity. The probability of these extreme conditions is reported as very likely.

Thursday, 12th March: Temperatures remain high with continued humidity. Some relief may be felt in isolated pockets, though overall conditions will still be warm.
