Mumbai Metro Line 5: Thane-Kalyan-Bhiwandi viaduct across Kasheli Creek completed

The authorities have started work on the final portion of the Kasheli Creek bridge. It will be part of the Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan stretch of the bridge which is 15 metres above the river and has 13 piers. The bridge construction began in May 2021 as a part of a 12.811-kilometer stretch of the Mumbai Metro line.
Thane, Bhiwandi, and Kalyan are served by Orange Line 5. The route spans 24.9 kilometres and includes 17 stops. The project's overall cost is Rs 8416 crores.
Thane, Bhiwandi, and Kalyan are Mumbai's eastern suburbs and popular residential areas.
