The block is being carried out on the slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central stations from 10.30 am to 3.35 pm.
What does this mean for commuters?
During this time, all trains that usually run on the slow lines will be diverted to the fast lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central. Because of this:- Some Up and Down local trains will be cancelled.
- Some Churchgate-bound trains will be short-terminated or reversed from Bandra or Dadar stations.
Metro Line 9 work to cause late-night blocks
In addition to the daytime megablock, Western Railway will also carry out a major block between Mira Road and Bhayander stations during the night. This is for the Metro Line 9 girder launching work.A block was taken early Sunday morning (1.30 am to 3.15 am).
Similar blocks will happen again on the nights of Sunday-Monday and Monday-Tuesday from 1.45 am to 3 am, a senior railway official confirmed.
Why these blocks matter
These blocks are essential for the ongoing development of Mumbai’s Metro Line 9, but they will affect regular train services.Commuters are advised to check train schedules before travelling and plan alternate routes if needed.
