Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been in the news for what appears to be a legal battle with his estranged wife Aaliya Siddiqui. Previously, Aaliya filed a petition in family court seeking a paternity test for her younger son in order to prove that the child is the actor’s. Now, a Mumbai court has dismissed two petitions filed against Nawazuddin by his “former” wife Zianab (Aaliya Siddiqui), asking the police to file dowry harassment charges against him.

According to the actor’s lawyers, Zainab (Aaliya Siddiqui) filed numerous complaints against Siddiqui for falsely claiming to be his wife.

“On February 21, two cases brought before a magistrate's court were dismissed when we presented the couple's divorce papers”, the actor’s lawyers said. The actor was the target of lawsuits based on marriage certificates. The attorneys asserted that the court was not given access to valid divorce documents.

Zainab (Aaliya Siddiqui) had sought a direction to the Versova police station in suburban Mumbai to register an FIR against the actor and his mother under IPC sections 498A (dowry harassment), 509 (to provide protection to women), and other related provisions in petitions filed before the magistrate’s court.

On the complaint of the actor’s mother, Mehrunisa Siddiqui, Versova police arrested Zainab (Aaliya Siddiqui) for trespass and voluntarily causing harm last month. She claimed Zainab (Aaliya Siddiqui) broke into her home and assaulted her after they got into an argument.
