Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super King declared a massive 7-wicket win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Chepauk stadium on Friday. After the victory, the CSK captain who is also called ‘Thala’ by his fans spoke during the post-match presentation and dropped a hint about his IPL career.

The former Indian skipper seemed delighted with CSK’s win on April 21. As Dhoni held the mic he was welcomed by loud cheers and support from the fans who were waiting for him to speak.

He said, “All said and done, it's the last phase of my career, however long I play.”

Appreciating the fans who have been with the yellow squad through all thick and thin, the CSK skipper said, “After two years, the fans have had the opportunity to come here and watch, feels good to be here. The crowd has given us a lot of love and affection.”

Talking about taking fewer opportunities with the bat in IPL 2023, Dhoni said that though he is not getting enough chances to bat there are no complaints.

Praising young Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana, who grabbed 2 wickets in four overs conceding 42 runs, he said that apart from spinner, he also bowled ‘superbly’.

Dhoni’s fun banter with commentator Harsha Bhogle

He also had a fun interaction with veteran cricket commentator and analyst, Harsha Bhogle. Speaking about taking a stunning catch behind the stumps to dismiss SRH captain Aiden Markram on Friday, the 41-year expressed disappointment for not getting the ‘best catch award’.

Dhoni told Bhogle that the catch wasn't easy for him as he wasn’t standing in the correct position.

However, Harsha immediately replied saying, “You are not old!”
"Definitely old! You can't really shy away from that," Dhoni, 41, added.
