Mrs. World 2022 Sargam Koushal brings back crown to India after 21 years, feels it’s her time to serve motherland

Sargam Koushal has won the Mrs. World crown, after a gap of 21 years ever since an Indian had last won it.

32-year-old Koushal worked as an English literature teacher before she started preparing to represent at the pageant. She hails from Jammu and is married to an Indian Navy officer Aditya Manohar Sharma.

After winning the pageant, Koushal opened up about her feelings and said that being a soldier’s wife, it was her chance to make India proud. She acknowledged the support of her husband throughout her journey of becoming Mrs. World. “Usually the wives are the invisible soldiers working behind the curtains, doing the messy work,” she said and further adding that in her case, she was the one who has been leading from the front.


Koushal during another interview had a message for the women of the country where she said that if one doesn’t feel the passion in herself, one needs to take a step back and bring a change in life.

Koushal recalls that her journey to become Mrs. World is all about empowerment, strength, and the grit that Indian women have. In the national costume round, she wore a costume made from peacock feathers and a Kashmiri phiran, handcrafted by indigenous women in one of the other rounds.

Ever since Sargam bagged the title wishes from all across the country are pouring in on her social media. To share the moment of joy with them, she shared a picture of her with the Mrs. World 2022 crown on her official social media account with the caption saying that Mrs. World crown is back in India after a long wait of 21 years. Meanwhile, her family and fans welcomed her back with much pomp and show on December 23 as she returned with the much-coveted crown back to the country.
