Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway’s director claims she and lead actor Rani cried numerous times during movie’s filming
Ashima Chibber, the director, talks about how both her and the lead actor, Rani Mukherjee, were in tears frequently during the filming of Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway.

The Hindi movie depicts the actual story of an Indian mother named Sagarika Bhattacharya, who fought to get custody of her young children back after a foreign government had taken them away. The director revealed that it was difficult for both of them to film certain scenes because she and Rani got disturbed and emotional while shooting them. She further says that the movie strengthened their relationship.
Ashima also claims that she can find no actor better than Rani for this role. She stated that because Rani is a mother herself, she could relate well to the plot and emotions. Over the course of the movie, the actor was able to portray Sagarika's three-year odyssey, during which she lived without her children for 610 days, from the time she arrived in Norway until she was forced to leave without her children.
Rani most recently appeared in Bunty Aur Babli 2 alongside Saif Ali Khan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh.
