Motorola released the Moto G53, an economical 5G smartphone, and the Moto X40, the company's first phone to employ the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, in China on December 15.

The Moto G53 is priced at CNY 899 (about Rs 10,700) for the base 4GB/128GB option, and CNY 1,099 for the 8GB/128GB configuration (roughly Rs 13,100). The Moto G53 is available in Azure White and Xuanwu Black. There is currently no information about the Moto G53 5G's availability outside of China.

The Moto G53 is powered by an unspecified octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The phone also has 128GB of extendable storage and can use up to 3GB of unused storage as virtual RAM. The Moto G53 is powered by Android 13 and My UI 5.0 on top.
