Moto Edge 70 Pro: Availability, price, camera setup and key specs explained

Motorola on Wednesday launched the Edge 70 Pro smartphone in India, expanding its Edge series lineup. The handset is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 series processor and features a 6,500mAh battery along with a triple rear camera setup led by a 50 megapixel Sony LYT 710 sensor.

Price and availability

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro is priced at Rs 38,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at Rs 41,999. Buyers can avail an instant bank discount of up to Rs 2,000 using Axis Bank and HDFC Bank cards or opt for an exchange bonus of up to Rs 2,000. The smartphone will go on sale in India starting April 29 and is available in Pantone Lilly White, Pantone Tea and Pantone Titan colour options.

Display and software

The device runs on Android 16 based Hello UI and will receive up to three years of OS upgrades and security updates. It features a 6.8 inch Super HD Extreme AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, peak brightness of up to 5,200 nits and HDR10 plus support. The screen also offers a 360Hz touch sampling rate and a 96.8 percent screen to body ratio.

Performance and durability

The smartphone is powered by an octa core MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme chipset paired with up to 12GB LPDDR5x RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. It includes a vapour chamber cooling system for thermal management. The device comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance along with MIL STD 810H certification.

Camera and battery

The Motorola Edge 70 Pro features a triple rear camera setup with a 50 megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 50 megapixel ultrawide camera with a 122 degree field of view and an additional sensor. For selfies, it offers a 50 megapixel front camera with autofocus and supports video recording up to 4K at 60 frames per second.

The smartphone packs a 6,500mAh battery with support for 90W fast charging and 5W reverse charging. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and a USB Type C port.
