In an unusual turn of events in Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh, locals were treated to a spectacle they won’t soon forget, a literal “money rain” caused by none other than a mischievous monkey.

The primate snatched cash from a man at the tehsil office in Bidhuna, flinging the currency notes into the air as bystanders scrambled to grab them. As per reports, the owner, Rohitash Chandra, reportedly lost Rs 28,000 in the chaos. His bag, kept in the boot of his motorcycle, contained Rs 80,000, but only Rs 52,000 could be recovered.

The vlogger, clearly stunned, posted online: “I got robbed in India, can’t believe these guys got me. I was saving that chocolate cake and oranges for tonight, now I’m hungry.” The video quickly went viral, giving audiences a perfect mix of humour and disbelief.

In Vrindavan, Aligarh, Abhishek Agarwal experienced a far more expensive encounter. Leaving the Banke Bihari Temple, a monkey snatched his wife’s bag containing jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh. The woman had kept her valuables inside the bag during the temple visit. Fortunately, police later recovered the bag, but the incident left everyone shocked.
