She said the filmmaker had been speaking against her and questioning her credibility as an actor. Responding to that, she said, "Who wants to be a part of his films? He is such a bad and disgusting person. He misbehaves with minor girls in the name of films. I am even ashamed to utter his name," she alleged.

The director has not been named in the report.

Marriage row adds to tension

The controversy also appears to have deepened around Monalisa’s marriage. Addressing rumours and allegations, she defended her relationship with Farman.

She said, "We got married according to Hindu rites at a temple. Everyone in the country knows that. The director wishes that people should fight each other. He is calling our marriage a love-jihad. I respect all religions."
