The man seems to have slapped the woman as she stopped him from placing a poster in front of her shop. As the woman stood her ground and argued back, he pushed her down.
Reports said the incident took place on in front of her shop of August 28. ANI, which reported the incident, did not identify the man, but TOI and other news outlets identified him as a worker of the MNS led by Raj Thackeray.

Bhatkhalkar told Times Now that the Eknath Shinde and BJP alliance government will not tolerate such incidents and will take speedy and strict action against the accused, despite his political affiliation.
Abha Singh, activist and lawyer, strongly condemned the 'indecent' incident.
"These are not MNS workers, they are MNS 'goons'. Earlier also, the MNS workers had beaten up taxi walas and bhaji walas. Their only motive is to get themselves noticed as Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections are approaching," Singh said.
