Mirchi ka Halwa goes viral on social media as netizens discover the unconventional Indian dessert

A green chili halwa, "Mirchi ka halwa," has gone viral on social media, sparking mixed reactions from the users.

The video, shared by Instagram user @bala.dagar__malik.7127, shows the dessert being prepared and served.

The video features a woman expressing her surprise at the unusual dish. "I've had plenty of sweets, but this is the first time I've heard of Mirchi ka halwa," she says.


The footage shows green chilies covered in silver foil being stirred into the halwa. Those around her also confirm they have never encountered such a dessert.

The video has gained over 1 million views and almost 14,000 likes. Some online commenters expressed interest in the unique dessert, while others criticized the concept.

One of the users commented, "If we wanted green chillies, we would have gone for pakoras." Another countered with, "I have tried this halwa in 2020, it's unmatchable."

Despite the online debate, green chili halwa is a traditional dish. The ingredients include green chilies, ghee, mawa, sugar, and dried fruits.
