Ming-Chi Kuo says iPhone SE 4 is back with in-house 4nm 5G chip, bigger OLED display
Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple analyst, said that the iPhone SE 4, the production of which was previously stopped, will be back with new modifications. Apple is planning to introduce this model with their in-house 4 nm 5G chips.

According to Kuo, this model will feature an in-house 5G chip, replacing the Qualcomm chips. Kuo said that the iPhone SE 4 will include Apple’s 5G baseband chip manufactured using a 4nm process. It will only be able to support Sub-6GHz. He says that the main obstacle for Apple will be the technical challenges associated with mmWave and satellite connectivity. He suggested that the model could feature a display update as well. Kuo predicted that this model will come with a 6.1-inch OLED display, with thinner bezels.
Kuo remarked that Apple might consider using their baseband chips in iPads and Apple watches if the experiment succeeds with iPhone SE4. The reason behind this is that iPads and watches have ‘lower technical requirements’. According to the analyst, this will benefit Apple’s hardware gross margin. However, Qualcomm’s Apple business will substantially decrease in the next 2-3 years.
Kuo did not indicate when the iPhone SE 4 will be released but hinted that it will not likely be available till 2024.
