Milind Soman's Kerala run

‘Hill Highway Run' covered a distance of 22 km from Elappara to Kanchiyar town via Chappath. The run is being organized as part of the KIIFB campaign to promote its projects in the state. The Hill Highway in Idukki was completed under the leadership of KIIFB at an estimated cost of ₹134.4 crore. Spanning a total length of 1,332 km, the highway runs from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram. For its construction, KIIFB employed the advanced Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) technology — a relatively rare and eco-friendly method that improves durability and strengthens the road against natural calamities.

Stretching across 13 districts of Kerala along the fringes of the Western Ghats, the highway features dedicated utility ducts for electricity and internet cables, along with modern drainage systems. Rest areas and scenic viewpoints have been developed at intervals of every 50 km for the convenience of travellers. The route has also gained prominence as a tourist attraction and is being promoted under the ‘Spice Route’ initiative.
