Desperate times call for desperate measures. The saying from ancient Greek physician Hippocrates literally came true for Mercedes-Benz India CEO when his S-Class Mercedes car got stuck in a traffic jam in Pune. Martin Schwenk, the Chief Executive Officer of Mercedes-Benz India, got stuck in traffic recently in Pune. Not being able to move in the traffic jam, the situation turned so desperate that Shwenk had to leave his Mercedes S-Class and walk for a kilometer on foot to hire an auto to cover the remaining distance to his destination.

He shared the desperate incident in an Instagram post. Sharing a photo from his auto ride, he wrote, "If your S-class is stuck in traffic on the wonderful Pune roads - what do you do? Maybe getting off the car, start walking for a few KM's and then grabbing a rickshaw?"



The post has gone viral on the social media with few user asking him about his experience of hiring and riding an autorickshaw in India.

One Instagram user said "Well, lucky you. Not everyone is fortunate enough to find an autorickshaw driver who agrees to take you to your destination."

Another comment read: "this reminds me the scene Amir khan travels to meet his girlfriend in Ghajini.""

One user jokingly asked whether the rickshaw driver charged by metre or not?

Schwenk has been the CEO of Mercedes-Benz India since 2018. Before that, he served as the Chief Financial Officer of Mercedes-Benz China. He has been associated with the brand since 2006.

In India, the luxury car company is betting on the new rich class to boost the sale of its luxury cars.
