Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV Price
German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz India has launched the locally assembled V-Class MPV in India at a starting price of Rs 1.4 crore. The premium six-seater luxury vehicle strengthens the company’s presence in the high-end segment and reflects growing demand for luxury mobility solutions in the country.

The launch comes as the company expresses cautious optimism about sales growth in the next financial year.

Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV Price and Key Highlights

  • Price: Rs 1.40 crore
  • Seating Configuration: Six-seater luxury layout
  • Engine Options: Petrol engine introduced for the first time in India, alongside diesel
  • Wheelbase: Extra-long for enhanced comfort
  • Suspension: AIRMATIC air suspension adapted for Indian road conditions

The V-Class returns to the Indian market after its initial introduction in 2019, now with India-specific upgrades and local production to make it more competitively priced.

Mercedes-Benz India Sales Growth Outlook

Managing Director and CEO Santosh Iyer said the company expects growth in the coming year, though it may not be in double digits.

He noted that while Indian economic fundamentals remain strong, including healthy GST collections and steady customer enquiries, luxury purchases are often sentiment-driven and influenced by geopolitical developments.

The company has already implemented a price increase in January, with another revision scheduled for April, which may moderately impact sales momentum.

Growing Demand for Luxury MPVs in India

Post-Covid, the top-end vehicle segment has shown significant momentum. According to the company, its top-end vehicle sales grew by 11 per cent last year, indicating a shift in customer preferences towards premium and spacious vehicles.

The V-Class caters to affluent buyers seeking privacy, comfort and exclusivity, described by the company as a “private suite” experience on wheels.

Local Assembly at Chakan Manufacturing Facility

The V-Class is now locally assembled at Mercedes-Benz India’s Chakan plant in Pune. Localisation has helped bring the price down to Rs 1.4 crore, compared to an estimated Rs 2 crore if fully imported.
