'Meg 2: The Trench' trailer out; Check release date, cast, and more
Jason Statham has now unveiled the long-anticipated trailer for Meg 2: The Trench on his Instagram account with the release date.

The film, directed by Ben Wheatley, is a science-fiction thriller inspired by Steve Alten's 1999 novel, The Trench.
'Meg 2: The Trench' Trailer
According to the trailer, the submersible carrying a team of scientists is attacked by three massive sharks, including the Megalodon, a species that was previously believed to be extinct. In the opening scenes, the trailer also shows two dragons engaged in a battle, only to be devoured by the gigantic shark.
The trailer does not depict any scenes of Jason Statham or any other characters combating the three sharks at a tourist attraction. Instead, it portrays the sharks attacking a submersible and the scientists inside it, as well as the Megalodon appearing to be the main antagonist. There is no indication of any character bringing the situation under control.
'Meg 2: The Trench' Cast
Jason Statham is reprising his role as the disgraced rescue diver, Jonas Taylor, in Meg 2: The Trench. However, his love interest, Suyin, played by Li Bingbing, will not be returning for the sequel. Other returning cast members include Cliff Curtis as James 'Mac' Mackreides, Shuya Sophia Cai as Meiying, and Page Kennedy as DJ.
Joining the cast for the sequel are newcomers Skyler Samuels, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, and Wu Jing, who is the highest-grossing male actor of all time in China.
