Eighteen-month-old Layla Davis is reported to have a condition called the Uncombable Hair Syndrome (UHS), which is said to make hair dry and frizzy - virtually impossible to comb.
"She was fluffy from when she was about one and then after that, it started growing more and more outwards,” her mother Charlotte was quoted as saying by the Metro.
She said she was in denial at first and kept believing it was going to go flat.
"I was really proud to get the diagnosis because it's so rare," Charlotte said, adding that the chances of having UHS are quite slim.
The condition is so rare that so far there are only 100 known cases of Uncombable Hair Syndrome in the world. Children with the rare condition would have light-coloured hair.
There is no known cure for this so far, but it is expected to get better with age and said to be completely gone by puberty.
