The world now has the shortest man alive, who hails from Iran. The man is a young lad twenty at the moment, and his name is Afshin Esmaeil Ghaderzadeh. The young man measures 2 feet 1.6 inches or 65.24 cm, and the Guinness Book of World Records in Dubai has confirmed the height. Afshin is from Bukan County, located in the West Azerbaijan province of Iran. Afshin was born on 13 July 2002. The earlier record holder dislodged by Afshin was a 33-year-old from Columbia, Edward ‘Nino’ Hernandez, who measured 70.21 cm.

Afshin, who has never been away from his home, left with his parents for the Guinness Book of World Records office in Dubai, and the news was confirmed after 24 hours, during which he was measured thrice.

Many YouTube users congratulated the young lad after the Guinness Book of World records shared the video of Afshin being measured. Many wrote their views in the comments section wishing Afshin a happy and healthy life. Some of them even guessed that Afshin had a kind and generous personality.

An avid soccer fan, Afshin dons special clothes designed for three-year-old children. Afshin happily quipped his new-found fame will help him to support his parents, who sometimes struggle to find the money for his specialist care.

Afshin can speak Persian and Kurdish, along with the local Farsi dialect. The young man was born with a weight of 700 grams and grew to 6.5 kilos. Afshin uses a smartphone, but as they are significant for his diminutive size, he finds it cumbersome to walk around with it. He also finds it heavy, given his body weight is 6.5 kilos. He has followers on Instagram, and his friends help him use it. His favourite pastime is watching cartoons.
