What's new this year?
MCC has introduced several technology-driven changes to simplify the counselling process. The biggest change is a one-time physical reporting system. Candidates who choose the "Freeze" option after seat allotment must report to their allotted institute once to complete admission formalities. Those opting for "Float" can participate in subsequent counselling rounds while their documents are verified online and will be required to report physically only after Round 3 if they continue to hold a seat.
An online resignation facility has also been introduced, allowing eligible candidates to surrender their allotted seats through the counselling portal without visiting the institution.
Other changes include:
- Online document verification
- Digitised NRI admissions
- Expanded facilities for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)
- Enhanced cybersecurity measures
- Improved grievance redressal mechanism
Documents required
Candidates should keep the following documents ready before registering:- NEET UG 2026 scorecard and admit card

- Class 12 mark sheet and passing certificate
- Valid government-issued photo ID

What happens after registration?
After completing registration and fee payment, candidates must fill and lock their preferred colleges and courses within the stipulated deadline. Seat allotment will be based on the candidate's NEET UG 2026 rank, reservation category, choices filled and seat availability. The Economic Times Business News App for the Latest News in Business, Sensex, Stock Market Updates & More.
