The NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 seat allotment result is scheduled to be declared on August 19, 2026, after the choice-locking process concluded on August 18 at 11:59 PM. Candidates allotted seats will be required to complete physical reporting at their designated colleges from August 20 to August 25, while those seeking an upgrade can participate in Round 2.

The Round 2 registration process is scheduled to open on August 24, with choice filling continuing until September 2, 2026. Candidates looking for a higher-preference college can submit fresh choices during this period.

Round 1 reporting and documents required

Candidates accepting their Round 1 allotment must report physically to the allotted college between August 20 and August 25. During reporting, they must complete the admission formalities, submit the required original documents and pay the applicable tuition fees.


Candidates should keep the NEET UG 2026 Scorecard and Admit Card ready and carry the MCC Round 1 Seat Allotment Letter downloaded from the candidate dashboard.

The required documents include original Class 10 and Class 12 certificates and marksheets, valid photo identification such as an Aadhaar Card, PAN or Passport, and passport-sized photographs matching those submitted during the application. Candidates must also carry a Category Certificate or PwBD Certificate, wherever applicable.

All these documents are to be produced during physical reporting at the allotted college.

Round 2 upgrade process

Candidates who wish to move to a higher-preference college after receiving a Round 1 seat can seek an upgrade in Round 2. They must first report to the college allotted in Round 1, complete the admission formalities, submit the original documents, pay the tuition fees and provide official willingness for upgradation.

Round 2 registration will begin on August 24, and candidates can fill choices until September 2. For an upgrade, candidates should include only colleges they prefer over the institution allotted to them in Round 1.

Free exit option for candidates not joining

Candidates who do not wish to join their Round 1 allotted college can make use of the free-exit provision by choosing not to report to the institution within the prescribed reporting period.

There is no financial penalty or loss of eligibility for Round 2 under the free-exit provision, and the security deposit remains safe. Candidates who simply do not report or upload documents do not need to complete any separate action.
