Marvel makes plans to screen “Return of Werewolf by Night” this year

This Halloween, Marvel Studios is upping the spooky quotient, with the film 'Return of Werewolf by Night' set to be released on Disney+.

Jack Russell is set to make his appearance as the titular Werewolf, marking Marvel's return to this storyline. He is set to appear in this year's Moon Knight Annual, according to House of Ideas.

Written by Jed MacKay and created by Federico Sabbatini, this year's production is bringing together the Fist of Khonshu and Jack Russell to fight and prove their power over the Darkhold - the place of magic spells that turned Russell into the Werewolf.


MacKay is of the opinion that they fans should be provided with an additional fun quotient through Moonlight Annual, a part of their Moon Knight series.

The Moon Knight Annual #1 was written as a throwback to historical happenings which fans loved. McKay says that the Moon Knight has changed since he first fought the Werewolf, and there is a certain joy in seeing these two Marvel characters intermingle with each other.

Russell's previous appearance was in the Deadpool series in 2016 when he handed the baton to Jake Gomez - in a limited series that had Taboo, Benjamin Earl, and Scot Eaton.

Marvel's go-to music composer - Michael Giacchino - is set to turn director for this film, with the 'Spider-Man' composer confirming his directorial debut last month.

Marvel hasn’t announced the project officially, as yet.
