As per reports, the company may sell the K10 model alongside the current Alto 800. Maruti had discontinued the previous Alto K10 in April 2020 due to the introduction of BS6 emission norms, but it continued with the Alto 800.
Alto has been Maruti's top selling car over the past two decades and is the only Indian car to have sales of 40 lakh units in the domestic market.
The new Alto K10 is likely to have a bigger single grille at the front, with curvaceous headlamps. It will be sold in six colour options --Solid White, Silky Silver, Granite Grey, Sizzling Red, Speedy Blue and Earth Gold.
Alto K10 will be based on the new modular Heartect platform and it will retain the same width as Alto 800.
The car is likely to be offered in 12 variants, in which eight will be manual and four automatic.
The sides of the car are likely to retain the old look of the last edition, but the rear tail lights have got an update along with the rear bumper that gives the car a more modern look.
