A car owner in the United Kingdom managed to locate his £23,000 car after it was stolen from his home in Birmingham. 23-year-old Jayy Robinson was taken aback when he realised that both his cars, a sporty Seat, and a Volkswagen Gold, had been stolen from his residence. The thieves quietly entered his house and made off with the car keys.

Expressing his frustration with the initial response from the police, Jayy took to social media to share his plight. A blurry video of the stolen Seat surfaced on the image-sharing platform Snapchat, catching the attention of Jayy's friend, Jamie. To the car owner's shock, the thief demanded £2,000 in exchange for the stolen vehicle.

Leveraging their tech-savvy skills, Jamie and Jayy embarked on a quest to recover the stolen car. They initiated a reverse image search to pinpoint the location of the stolen Seat, successfully identifying the building it was parked beside. Notably, they spotted a vital clue—a wheelie bin bearing the name of a housing estate. Employing the capabilities of Google Earth, they meticulously narrowed down the exact street where the vehicle was located. With this valuable information in hand, they promptly alerted the police, who swiftly retrieved the Seat, situated just six miles away from Jayy's Birmingham residence.

While the recovery of the Seat was a commendable feat, Jayy Robinson remained dissatisfied with the West Midlands Police's response. He noted that he had contacted the authorities for updates, only to discover that the case was still pending allocation. It was Jayy's proactive efforts, assisted by technology and a keen eye for details, that ultimately led to the recovery of his stolen car. It's important to mention that his Volkswagen Golf, valued at approximately £16,000, is still awaiting retrieval.
