Mahindra Group chairman Anand Mahindra is quite active on social networks. He is known for tweeting about innovations by Indians and on inspiring events. Today he shared a video of a person who was arrested at the Kolkata airport on Monday for trying to smuggle cash worth $4,000 concealed in gutkha pouches.

According to available information, the accused was arrested by customs officials at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata while trying to fly to Bangkok. As per officials, they intercepted the person after receiving intelligence input.

"He was scheduled to depart to Bangkok after immigration formalities." We intercepted him, and during the search of his checked-in baggage, we found that he was smuggling dollars. "The search resulted in the recovery of $4,000 concealed inside gutkha pouches," a Customs official was quoted as saying by news wire agency IANS.

As per officials, the recovered foreign currency has been seized under Section 110 of the Customs Act. The passenger has been placed under arrest in terms of Section 104 of the Customs Act. The accused person was later produced before a special court, which then remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.

Reacting to the video, Anand Mahindra said: "There is no shortage of innovative thinking and "manufacturing" in India."

However, the billionaire businessman added that it would have been better if he had used it for something productive. "I just wish this gentleman had applied his creativity to more productive and law-abiding goals!,"
