Thousands of devotees embark on a journey to religious sites such as Haridwar, Gangotri, Ayodhya, and others in northern India. They carry pots, known as Kanwars, filled with holy water from the Ganga river and offer it to Shivalings as part of the ritual known as Jal Abhishek, seeking blessings from Lord Shiva. It is important for the earthen pots to not touch the ground, so devotees often secure them to sticks, which they carry on their shoulders.
