"Maldives In Malad": Mumbai man sleeps peacefully on waterlogged stretch, makes a splash on internet

Mumbai residents have been experiencing tremendous hardships since Monday due to heavy rains. Waterlogging and other rain-related incidents have crippled traffic in the metropolis. Amidst all this, a funny video of a man in a fully submerged area is circulating on social media.

While passing vehicles such as buses and cars splash water on the man, he lies peacefully and enjoys himself on the waterlogged road. Netizens enjoyed watching the video which went viral in no time.

A user named @iamshahidkhan42 posted on Twitter: "This man feel Maldives in Malad...bheegi bheegi sadkon par tera intezaar karu.."

The video was originally posted on Facebook by a user named Vikrant Joshi. He posted it with the caption: Thank you, BMC, for making this man feel Maldives in Malad.

Ever since it was shared, thousands of people have viewed the video and left funny remarks. The video has got over 700k views and has been shared by more than 10,000 Facebook users.

One user tagged two more of his friends and commented: “Let's go to Maldives,”

Another user also commented on similar lines: “Maldives in Malad.”

There is a possibility of more rain in Mumbai in the next few days. Mumbai and nearby areas have been under red alert since Monday, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

People are prohibited from visiting beaches on days of red or orange alerts issued by the Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). BMC has set the time of visiting the beaches at 6AM-10AM.
