Maidaan teaser is out. Ajay Devgn plays legendary Indian football coach

The teaser for Ajay Devgn’s 'Maidaan', one of his most anticipated films, was released on Thursday. The film, produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla, and Arunava Joy Sengupta, would depict the raw side of Indian football’s golden age, from 1952 to 1962.

'Maidaan', which professes to depict football's golden era, stars Ajay Devgn as Syed Abdul Rahim, the Indian football team's coach and manager from 1950 till his death in 1963.

The teaser began with the narrator presenting the Summer Olympics 1952 competition at Helsinki Stadium in Finland. They are up against a well-seasoned team from Yugoslavia. Despite numerous difficulties, the Indian football team managed to qualify for the Olympics thrice between 1952 and 1962, the golden era of football.




‘Maidaan’, directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, is billed as a sports drama with a script by Saiwyn Quadras and dialogues by Ritesh Shah. The film, which also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao will be released in theatres globally on June 23, 2023.

Ajay Devgn’s recent release ‘Bholaa’ was also released today. The film is an official Hindi remake of Lokesh Kanagaraj's Tamil film ‘Kaithi’, which the actor wrote and directed. In the movie, Ajay Devgn plays a hero who has the ability to shock each of the antagonists to their very core.

The original film told the story of an ex-convict who decides to meet his daughter for the first time after being released from jail, but gets caught up in a shootout between police and the drug mafia.
