Monalisa, the woman who rose to internet fame after a video of her selling Rudraksha beads at the Mahakumbh went viral, has reportedly married her boyfriend, actor and model Farman Khan, in an interfaith ceremony at a temple in Kerala.

According to reports, the couple tied the knot at a temple in Thiruvananthapuram. A video circulating on social media shows Monalisa dressed in bridal attire with sindoor applied in her hair parting, standing beside Farman Khan during the ceremony.

Police officials said Monalisa had approached them seeking protection, stating that her family — particularly her father, Jai Singh Bhosle — was opposing their relationship and allegedly threatening her.

According to the police, Monalisa and Farman have been in a relationship for about one and a half years after meeting through Facebook. The couple reportedly travelled to Kerala as they feared strong opposition from their families in their home state.

Following an argument with her father in Ernakulam, Monalisa reportedly travelled by train to Thiruvananthapuram with Farman and approached the police for assistance.

She told the police that she wishes to live with Farman but is not ready to file a formal complaint against her father.

Originally from the Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh, Monalisa worked as a garland seller before becoming an overnight internet sensation after videos of her from the Mahakumbh went viral and attracted massive attention online.

Her sudden popularity soon opened doors in the entertainment industry. She has been offered the lead role in The Diary of Manipur, directed by Sanoj Mishra, who earlier worked on The Diary of West Bengal. According to Jagran English, Monalisa has reportedly signed the project for ₹21 lakh and received an advance payment of ₹1 lakh.

Reports also suggest that she has been cast in a Malayalam film titled Nagamma. The film will reportedly be directed by P Binu Varghese and produced by Jeeli George, with Monalisa expected to play a significant role, according to OnManorama.
