"Staying here offers tourists easy access to rituals, sacred baths, and spiritual events, along with the chance to immerse in the festival’s vibrant atmosphere and cultural diversity," said government's website.

What is difference between Kumbh and Mahakumbh mela?

The Maha Kumbh Mela is held once every 12 years, marking the completion of 12 cycles of the 12-year Kumbh Mela. According to devotees, taking a holy dip at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers during this sacred period enhances spiritual power and aids in attaining salvation. In contrast, the Kumbh Mela is celebrated every three years, rotating among four locations: Haridwar, Ujjain, Nashik, and Prayagraj. While the scale of this event is smaller compared to the Maha Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh, it remains significant.
