A government school teacher in Madhya Pradesh's Katni district has been suspended after a video showing him allegedly offering liquor to students went viral on social media. The teacher, identified as Lal Naveen Pratap Singh, works at a government primary school in Khirhani village under Barwara block.

The video, which surfaced on Friday, shows Singh offering liquor to young boys in cups and telling one of them to mix water before drinking. The incident quickly drew attention after being shared online.

District Collector Dilip Kumar Yadav took immediate notice of the video and instructed the district education officer, OP Singh, to take action. As a result, Lal Naveen Pratap Singh was suspended on charges of misconduct under the MP Civil Services (Conduct) Rules. He is accused of encouraging students to drink alcohol and damaging the reputation of the teaching profession.


The district officials circulated the video to different blocks, leading to the identification of the teacher involved. The swift response highlights the seriousness of the situation and the authorities' commitment to maintaining the integrity of education in the region.
