A 26-year-old man collapsed and passed away while riding a horse during his wedding procession in Sheopur district, Madhya Pradesh, an official confirmed on Saturday.

The tragic incident took place on Friday night, and a video showing the man's final moments surfaced on social media the following day.

The groom was identified as Pradeep Jat, the former district president of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), the student wing of the Congress.

District hospital's civil surgeon Dr RB Goyal said family members rushed Jat to the medical facility but he was already dead by the time.

The groom, a resident of Soonswada village, possibly died due to a heart attack, he said.

The video shows Jat, dressed in traditional attire, going towards the stage on a horse. He slowly leans forward and becomes unresponsive. A relative tries to dismount him from the horse but Jat collapses before that.

Recently, another tragic incident unfolded when a Delhi resident collapsed and passed away while dancing at the DJ stage during his friend's wedding celebration in Unnao on Friday, according to a ToI report.

Anuj Kumar, 25, from Madhu Vihar, Dwarka Sector-3, New Delhi, had traveled with three friends to attend his friend Ankit’s wedding in Daudpur, Hasanganj Kotwali. The wedding procession arrived at Guruprasad's residence in Niyotni town on Friday evening.

While dancing on the DJ stage with other guests, Anuj suddenly collapsed. Initially, onlookers believed it was part of his dance moves. However, when he remained on the ground, his friends became concerned and rushed to help him. Unable to speak or stand, Anuj was quickly taken to the community health center, where doctors declared him dead, reported TOI.

A post-mortem examination confirmed that cardiac arrest was the cause of death. Anuj, an MA student and the younger of two siblings, leaves behind his elder brother Alok and family, who are now devastated. Inspector Sandeep Shukla from Hasanganj Kotwali stated that the young man’s death was due to a heart attack while dancing at the celebration.
