Madhya Pradesh: Bulldozer rolls in to level house of accused who cut off BJP leader's hand

Bulldozers were deployed to demolish the residence of Farooq Raine, also known as Minnie, a key accused in the recent attack on a BJP leader in Bhopal. The demolition, conducted under the National Security Act (NSA) and in the presence of Bhopal Collector, marks the first use of a bulldozer since Mohan Yadav assumed the role of Chief Minister in Madhya Pradesh.

Farooq alias Minnie stands accused in the assault on Devendra Thakur, a BJP member and office-bearer in the party's Arera Mandal. Alongside four others, Farooq allegedly assaulted Devendra, resulting in the severing of his hand. The brutal attack occurred when Devendra attempted to shield himself from the assailants.

Following the incident, the perpetrators fled the scene, while Devendra Thakur was promptly taken to a private hospital by a friend. Reports indicate that he is now out of danger.


The BJP responded vehemently to the assault, staging a protest at the Police Commissioner's Office on Wednesday. Party leaders, along with supporters, demanded swift action against the culprits. Earlier on Tuesday, Alok Sharma, a party leader, had protested outside the Shahjahanabad police station, highlighting the urgency of addressing the attack on a party worker on Regiment Road.
