Lucknow's 'Anokha Mall' distributing woollen clothes to underprivileged at no cost

People who belong to the deprived section are given a stupendous opportunity to take warm garments and other accessories free of cost at the 'Anokha Mall' in Lucknow. These garments supplied by well-wishers allow rickshaw pullers, labourers, slum-dwellers and other impoverished parts of society to combat the chill of the winter months, plus decreasing inhibition of their being as "receivers".

The mall, which operates in Raheem Nagar for three months in December, January, and February. The Mall collects woollens from donations and displays them for the underprivileged. For the past five years, this pattern has been repeated.

Dr. Ahmed Raza Khan, a BUMS practitioner who operates the mall said that this mall is just like a shopping mall. Anyone can come in and take the clothes that they want for free, especially woollen clothes. He also stated that this is done to ensure that no one takes unfair advantage of the mall's assistance to the poor. He also mentioned that some people have previously removed garments from here and sold them in the market.


Aside from clothing, the mall also has sandals, bags, school uniforms, blankets, and comforters for the underprivileged.

The 48-year-old said it was tough at first to get contributors on board, but as they saw the noble goal of the programme, they enthusiastically backed it.

People are applauding this initiative, people from the area mentioned that this is a one-of-a-kind mall since the hungry will not have to stretch a seeking hand. They may wear whatever clothing or shoes they want, whenever they want, without being photographed or paying anything.
